Kudhva – a campsite with a difference.
Located near the North Cornwall coast, Kudhva is a stunning 45-acre retreat in a sheltered former slate quarry. Kudhva, Cornish for “hideout” portrays exactly what this incredible natural space is all about.
This unique site is ideal for weddings, celebrations, corporate gatherings and retreats. There are communal spaces, natural amphitheaters, photo ops galore, and some rather special architect-designed glamping accommodation. Views from the treetop kudhvas and tentsiles include Kirin Island, Polzeath headland and other local landmarks.
The onsite owner, Louise, offers a warm welcome and is wonderfully accommodating. Take a guided walk, visit the 40-foot waterfall cascade, unwind with some yoga in the meadow or let the surroundings inspire the artist within. Bring your own music or instruments for singing and dancing and don’t forget your beach gear!
Location, location, location!
It’s hard to beat North Cornwall when it comes to natural beauty and serenity. Kudhva is no exception. The surrounding landscape encourages guests to forget the everyday world, relax and celebrate what nature has to offer. The terrain provides a natural gym with opportunities for scrambling, running and swimming in the nearby reservoir
Views of the former engine house overlooking Gull Rock make sunsets a memorable experience. After dark, look up and marvel at the expansive star-studded sky. With no light pollution, stargazing is the ultimate digital detox.
Just a mile from Kudhva is the renowned Cornish sand and surf. Surf the waves, walk the scenic coastal path or linger over a pint of local ale at one of the nearby pubs.
Tintagel, birthplace of the legendary King Arthur, is just two miles away along with the pretty fishing villages at Boscastle and Port Isaac (of TVs Doc Martin fame).
The elevated tree houses and back-to-nature tree tents have been sensitively designed in harmony with the natural environment. Raised above the ground on stilts, these comfortable off-grid hideouts offer amazing coastal views to wake up to each morning.
The elevated two-person pods include soft bed linen, candles, torches and towels. Campers may prefer the treetop tentsiles or perhaps the Danish Cabin with bunk beds, bar and deck – what more could you wish for?
A “proper” bathroom includes flush loos and indoor showers powered by solar energy. There’s even a wood-fired hot tub for an additional fee.
Order your own organic veg box and supplement it with woodland foraged foods such as sweet wild strawberries.
Make use of the rustic camp kitchen and banquet table or cook on the campfire. Start the day with a breakfast basket of tasty goodies or place an order with the Kudhva chef. As you can see, they’ve thought of everything here!
Weddings, workshops, family gatherings, friends’ reunions, church and club weekends, yoga retreats, music and food events, or whatever you’re into. With no Wi-Fi, Kudhva encourages quality time together interspersed with trips to the nearby beach.
